New PIGs coming soon...
“It has been a little while since we have had new PIGs on the horizon… a few years in fact. Choosing properties that make a perfect PIG isn’t something that can be rushed – we had a view to open two new PIGs over the next couple of years: THE PIG-on the farm and THE PIG-at Groombridge. But sometimes opportunities arise when you are least expecting them…
This January, we also acquired the 17th century Barnsley House hotel, tucked away in the quintessential Cotswold’s village of Barnsley, just four miles from Cirencester. Nestled in historic arts and crafts style gardens, this little gem of a property had all the makings of a PIG already weaved into its DNA… with a few twists! It has a small but perfectly formed spa, and comes with its very own village pub, which will be a first for us – a PIG pub!
We hope this property will be the first new PIG to open its doors in summer 2024 as THE PIG-and The Village Pub.
Following this, THE PIG-on the farm will open at the end of 2024 – a mid-16th century listed stone-built Manor House just south of Stratford-Upon-Avon, set in 53 acres of pasture and arable land in the heart of rural England.
Then, with a fair wind behind us, THE PIG-at Groombridge will open its doors in summer 2025. Formerly known as Groombridge Place, this little gem of a property is one of the most renowned and historic buildings on the border of Kent and East Sussex, with a 13th century moat, gardens and vineyard.
We are excited to acquire these genuinely unspoilt listed gems and look forward to doing these beautiful buildings justice, restoring them sensitively, with their historic importance at the forefront of all decision making.
The classic beauty of these buildings complements our eight PIGs, with all of them existing in counties of steep historic significance. We will be creating something a little bit different to our other PIGs, but they will still have our classic style running through the fabric of the buildings.”

An exciting journey ahead
THE PIG-and The Village Pub
Tucked away in the quintessential Cotswold village of Barnsley, just 4 miles from Cirencester, this little gem of a property has all the makings of a PIG already weaved into its DNA… with a few twists!
It comes with its very own village pub – which will be a first for us – a PIG pub! It also has a small but perfectly formed spa which will see us extend our Potting Sheds beyond our treatment offerings.
Opening summer 2024
THE PIG–on the farm
Just south of Stratford-Upon-Avon comes THE PIG-on the farm – a mid-16th century listed stone-built Manor House set in 53 acres of pasture and arable land in the heart of rural England.
THE PIG-on the farm has a long driveway that will lead you to the farm, which is on the southwest edge of the Walton Estate in South Warwickshire close to the borders of Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.
Opening late 2024
THE PIG–at Groombridge
One of the most renowned and historic buildings on the border of Kent and East Sussex, Groombridge Place is a moated manor house in the village of Groombridge southwest of Tunbridge Wells.
Formerly known as Groombridge Place, THE PIG-at Groombridge was built in 1662 by barrister and architect Philip Packer, with the help of his friend Christopher Wren. Plans for this historic house are ongoing, but it is certain that all bedrooms will enjoy the striking views across the property’s moat, gardens or vineyard.
Opening summer 2025
Stay in the know about our new openings
Three new PIGs in the pipeline feels big, but nothing like we haven’t worked on before (somehow, we managed to open two during COVID!)
We really are excited by them – each is so different from the next, and over the next 18 months we will be working hard to create places that we know you will love. With a fair wind behind us we hope to open…
